Updated :: Fri, 05/08/2009

Does your agency, church or other non-profit offer summer classes or camps for children? Save the Children has several courses and workshops designed to plug into your existing program, including the following.

Resilient and Ready Workshop: A one hour workshop designed to educate children and build resiliency when faced with various forms of disasters, including hurricanes, floods and fires. The workshop combines cooperative games with disaster education to provide a fun, yet educational way for children to learn about preparedness.

Junior Journey of Hope: A program incorporating movement, art, music and literacy. JJOH gives children the opportunity to discuss issues such as anger, sadness, bullying and self esteem through cooperative play and offers a save space for building relationships with peers.
Ages: Pre-K through 1st grade

Elementary Journey of Hope: While focusing on topics related to childhood development, EJOH builds resiliency by encompassing literacy, art and music. Self-esteem, anger, aggression and sadness are some of the key components of the EJOH program.

Timeframe: 8, one hour long sessions

Adolescent Journey of Hope: A six session program designed to support adolescents by providing and understanding of stress, fear, safety, self-esteem and other issues faced by adolescents. The program consists of cooperative games, art, discussion and relaxation exercises.
